Neil Blackledge

Neil studied biochemistry at St John’s College, University of Oxford. He then went on to do a DPhil in the group of Ann Harris studying various chromatin aspects of the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) gene. The first 2 years of his DPhil were spent in Oxford at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, and the remainder at Children’s Memorial Research Center (CMRC), Chicago. Neil is is focussed on defining the mechanisms that dictate placement of specific histone marks at gene promoters and ultimately defining how these marks impact on gene expression.
