Aleksander Szczurek, Post Doctoral Research Scientist

Aleks has obtained his MSc degree in Molecular Biophysics from the Jagiellonian University (JU) in Krakow. During his Phd supervised by Prof. Christoph Cremer at the Institute of Molecular Biology in Mainz he carried out work on hypoxic chromatin structure and developed new super-resolution chromatin imaging strategies. After brief postdoctoral training at JU and University of Manitoba he joined Klose lab as a postdoctoral researcher and use microscopy-based single-cell/single-molecule techniques to study Polycomb-mediated gene repression.
