Aleksander Szczurek, Post Doctoral Research Scientist

Aleks has obtained his MSc degree in Molecular Biophysics from the Jagiellonian University (JU) in Krakow. During his Phd supervised by Prof. Christoph Cremer at the Institute of Molecular Biology in Mainz he carried out work on hypoxic chromatin structure and developed new super-resolution chromatin imaging strategies. After short postdoctoral training at JU (2017) and University of Manitoba (2017/2018) he joined Klose lab as a postdoctoral researcher to further the understanding of Polycomb-mediated gene repression through employing microscopy-based single-cell/single-molecule techniques
